Environments
This is a collection of different environment studies and illustrations I made during my time at school. It’s something I definitely want to work on, over time, but I wanted to showcase some of them that I worked on!

Problem: I’ve never been confident in my ability to paint backgrounds. I’ve done a few classes for it, this page showing some drawings and some matte paintings, but I’ve always had an issue of not being able to simplify nature in a way that would make sense on the page.
Solution: I had to keep pushing, and I still want to! I’ve done digital matte painting (below), I’ve used Blender to do 3D blockouts that I could paint over (above), and I’m planning on attempting more plein air painting to really try and figure out how I can shorthand what’s in front of me.
